This VdS-approved optical smoke detector works with photoelectric detection. If smoke enters the detector during a fire, it scatters the light beam emitted by a light source. This scattered light is captured by a photocell, triggering an alarm.
The measuring chamber is protected against external influences by an insect screen, among other things, and is insensitive to wind and air pressure. These protective devices, in combination with the multiple signal processing, prevent false alarms.
The detector can be easily and quickly mounted on a standard or relay base thanks to its quarter-turn fastener. Cleaning of the insect screen is facilitated by the removable cover.
