The Wind and Rain Control is connected between a SHEV control centre or ventilation control and a wind and rain sensor. In the event of strong wind and/or rain, it receives a corresponding signal from the respective sensor and sends a closing command to the control centre or ventilation control. This protects flaps and domelights from being damaged or torn off by strong winds. It also prevents rain from penetrating into the interior of the building and from damaging valuable fixtures or equipment.
Depending on the requirements, the wind and rain sensitivity of the WRS can be adjusted with a screwdriver on the respective potentiometers. The potentiometers are clearly marked with a pictogram for wind and rain sensor.
The signal to the control centre or ventilation control is made via four separate potential-free changeover contacts. These remain active for the entire response time of a sensor, but at least for six minutes. To prevent dew or ice from accumulating on the sensor surface and triggering a false alarm or impairing its functionality, the sensor surface of the rain sensor can be permanently heated.
